We are a group of volunteers based in the UK who came together to support civil society initiatives in Turkey.
Günebakanlar is a non-profit organisation that provides funding to local NGOs in Turkey that support disadvantaged groups, guided by the principles of humanity, independence, neutrality, transparency, accountability, and non-discrimination.
Our activities are local, but our values are universal.
Our duties and responsibilities
Günebakanlar is politically independent. One of our core responsibilities is to act impartially, objectively, and transparently, supporting NGOs in Turkey that share these principles.
We believe that every individual has the right to a life of dignity. Therefore, we aim to contribute to the social and economic well-being of disadvantaged groups in areas such as healthcare, children’s rights, gender equality, culture, and the arts.
Through donations and fundraising in the UK, we collaborate with like-minded NGOs in Turkey and support their impactful projects.
We aim to empower various vulnerable groups in Turkey by providing funding for our projects through donations and fundraising activities in the UK, and by collaborating with NGOs in Turkey that share our values.
