Burcu has been working in the fields of financial services, banking, consulting, and project management. In recent years, she has served as a consultant and project manager in hundreds of multinational projects within the world's largest consulting firms, with a focus on Turkey and the United Kingdom. Her passion for understanding the human mind led her to earn a BSc in Psychology from the University of Essex. On the personal side of things, born in İzmir and have lived in London since 2018. She is married and has two sons.

For over two decades, she worked for several NGOs in Turkey for supportive roles and has helped several organizations in the UK after the Kahramanmaras earthquake.
Nerin was born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey.
In her early youth, her desire to help people manifested as an ambition to become a doctor. However, while studying at the Uskudar American Academy, she discovered a talent for numbers. This set her on the path to study Economics at Marmara University, where she graduated  in 1983. Nerin completed her studies during a wrought period of ideological conflict and political unrest in Turkey; an education in of itself. This clarified the need to avoid politics in general, leading Nerin to focus on direct aid through the mastery of financial mechanisms. In 1984, she first moved to London to complete her MBA at Schiller International University, starting a decades long career in business and finance.

Now, she is able to fulfil those original, altruistic motivations from her early youth. Through her work with the Günebakanlar, She is able to offer her hard won skills and experience, to directly help the vulnerable.
Can brings a wealth of legal expertise to London, where he currently resides. Triple qualified to practice law in England & Wales, New York State, and Turkey, Can's career has spanned multiple continents. He has worked extensively in the finance and technology industries, notably in the FinTech and emerging web spaces. His proficiency in guiding multinational projects is complemented by a deep connection to his Turkish roots. Outside the legal arena, Can is a passionate metalhead and a sci-fi/fantasy enthusiast. His love for music and fiction uniquely blends into his dynamic approach to law.

Dr Cansu Kuey is a life scientist, and also a poet. She studied at Üsküdar American Academy, then continued her education at Bilkent, Boğaziçi, Oxford and Warwick universities. She believes in the power of science to transform lives and carries that belief into her work. Through Günebakanlar, she hopes to help create a world where people feel safe, valued, and never alone.
